Debitage is the pieces of flint or other material left behind while making an artifact. When we go arrowhead hunting, we pick up every piece of flint or other material. We do this because you never know if something is a tool, and you don't notice it in the field. After all, you want to spend more time hunting than looking at all these pieces. The debitage is also very colorful, and some day we hope to make a rock garden or some other display with them.
